About

Born March 16, 2008

I was born in ’08 and discovered my love for creative writing pretty early on. Now, I’m a senior in high school with my first published novel and many unfinished college applications piled up. I wrote one of my first works while in elementary school; it was titled Tommy y Thomas Viajan a China. Though that story was amazing, my mom’s sentimental favorite was one I wrote while in middle school. I worked on that specific piece with my English teacher, and it was titled, The Mountain Chef. All this to say that I’m glad I’ve outgrown those stories, but I’ll always remember them as they were the catalyst for what is now titled, The Year of Power.

I grew up in church, and so I feel it is a given that my most creative work, my most profound, happened to embody my beliefs. I understand the role literature plays in society—we’ve all been forced to study it—and to me, that means being on the right side of history. I’m sure, there is no doubt, that some people will not understand this sentiment, and that is okay.

Everything written above was done after the publication of my first novel. Now, it is four months later, and I am graduating from high school—finally. My journey in creative writing will continue at Columbia University, NYC, for the next four years. I am beyond thankful for the opportunity I’ve been given, so for my last thing, stay up to date because I predict that this site will begin to weigh a lot more in the coming months and years.
